About California Girl Foods

My name is Joyce Guan, and I am the founder of California Girl Foods, a premium food broker firm based in San Francisco, California. I identify emerging food brands and very rapidly sell those product lines to specialty stores, grocery stores, major retailers and chains, gift stores, hotels, online retailers, and catalog companies. One focus is premium foods from California.

As a Pioneering Food Broker, I usually choose product lines that are best-kept secrets with very little wholesale presence, and get them onto store shelves everywhere, including retail chains like Whole Foods, Williams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, Cost Plus, and more. I also sell products to corporate gift and special event customers. When my clients are ready to grow, I negotiate with, manage, and activate distributors.

In addition to sales strategy and execution, I also consult my clients on everything from marketing collateral, packaging, marketing & events, to generally connecting with them with the right people/resources.

The food business is one where experience and relationships count for a lot – many of my clients rely on the knowledge, experience, and relationships that I have cultivated to be successful in the marketplace.

I currently represent the following companies – visit my online catalog/ordering system for details: http://cagirlfoods.bbfdirect.com/shop/portal.

CHOCOLATE & CANDY: Madecasse, Taza Chocolate

TEA: Red & Green Teas, Teance Fine Teas

OLIVE OIL/BALSAMIC & VINEGARS: House of Balsamic, Nova OlivaOwens Creek Company

HEALTHY SNACKS: New England Herbal Foods (maker of Danielle Fruit & Veggie Chips), San Franola Granola, The Good Bean

When I’m not pioneering new brands, I’m doing house projects at my 1888 Queen Anne Victorian, going upside down in dance classes, trying new restaurants, playing tennis, biking, watching movies, paying attention to fashion, doing yoga, playing Scrabble, finding new pizza places, or hosting friends at the house.
